Full-time position – overtime eligible – Hours 3:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.

Starting pay: $26.83 per hour

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Compliance Investigator works closely with Agency personnel to investigate reported fraud, theft and/or deficiencies to evaluate compliance with internal controls, policies/procedures, and regulations. Provides complete reports with recommendations for appropriate action to address findings and/or correct identified deficiencies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (bold indicates essential function)

  1. Process document approval reviews and maintain the database.
  2. Review internal and external audit findings, perform follow-ups, and take appropriate action, if necessary, to ensure findings are remedied and compliant with applicable Rules and Regulations.
  3. Conduct investigations or reviews into reported thefts, fraud, and deficiencies.
  4. Generate comprehensive reports with clear objectives and recommendations for appropriate action.
  5. Oversee the gaming operation on a day-to-day basis, to assure compliance with applicable Rules and Regulations.
  6. Perform inspections of the gaming operation to ensure compliance with all applicable Rules and Regulations.
  7. Ensure reports are factual, accurate, clear, concise, timely, and free of spelling and grammatical errors. 
  8. Assist in TRTGC hearings or appeals, when necessary, by providing related incident reports, evidence, and/or video footage.  In some cases, testimony may be required.
  9. Assist the state Gaming Agency, when necessary, with site visits or inspections.
  10. Prepare and transmit gaming device transportation permits.
  11. Test and certify gaming device software and other required associated equipment.
  12. Oversee gaming device installation(s), relocation(s), conversion(s) and removal(s).  Track and ensure proper documentation for all installed software and other associated equipment.
  13. Assist in revoking or suspension of a Gaming License, when necessary.
  14. Cooperate with outside law enforcement, as required by the Gaming Commission.
  15. Complete and attend all training courses, online, onsite, and offsite as assigned.
  16. Other duties as assigned.

  8. Must have knowledge of and understand Tribal, federal, and state Gaming laws and regulations, including internal controls and policies/procedures (Rules and Regulations).
  9. Working knowledge of gaming equipment and technical specifications
  10. Ability to perform all job requirements of a Compliance Agent, when required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  1. A minimum of two (2) years of gaming regulatory, auditing, or investigative-related experience. Gaming regulator experience is preferred.  

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Must have a valid California driver’s license and be insurable through the Tribe.
  2. Ability to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
  3. Must be able to complete a pre-employment background investigation and drug screening successfully.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This job generally operates in a standard office environment.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and other electronic equipment.  The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet up to moderately noisy during meetings and events. While working on the casino floor directly, the employee shall be regularly exposed to loud noises and cigarette smoke.

The physical demands of the position require the employee can successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
