Full-time, non-exempt – Mid-shift (10:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m.)

Starting pay: $30.35 per hour

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Surveillance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the surveillance monitor room operations. You will supervise the Surveillance team on your shift to ensure Agency policies procedures and all other regulatory statutes are followed by Agency employees. This position will also observe the operations of Casino and report violations of the Gaming Ordinance, Tribal-State Compact, Gaming Regulations, Tule River Internal Control Standards (TRICS), Minimum Internal Control Standards (MICS), and/or policies and procedures (Applicable Regulations).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (bold indicates essential function)

  1. Be familiar with PNP’s of Gaming Operations, Agency, and applicable regulations. Develop detailed working knowledge of all codes, ordinances, regulations, law, policies and procedures and other applicable gaming laws.
  2. Supervise and effectively maintain a well-staffed shift.
  3. Ensures that staff understands and follows departmental and company policies and procedures.
  4. Review all Surveillance incident and observation reports.
  5. Train and evaluate Surveillance Officers.
  6. Recommend effective changes in policy and procedure to enhance department performance.
  7. Utilize the Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) surveillance system to observe day-to-day operation at EMC to ensure compliance with Applicable Regulations.
  8. Document all incidents and/or observations in full detail.
  9. Initiate reports on illegal activities committed by customers or employees on the gaming premises of EMC.
  10. Ensure reports are factual, accurate, clear, concise, timely, and free of spelling and grammatical errors.
  11. Assist the Tule River Tribe Gaming Commission with testimonies, reviews of incident reports/footage, and confiscated evidence for hearings/appeals, when required.
  12. Understand and operate all CCTV surveillance equipment such as; digital video recording, monitors, audio recording, camera control keyboard, and computer equipment.
  13. Maintain knowledge of all casino card games, dealing procedures, counting strategies and methods for cheating through regular testing and training.
  14. Dedicated observation of an activity or person compared to written documentation and/or procedure, i.e., fills, credits, etc., to confirm transactions.
  15. Cooperate with law enforcement, as directed by the Surveillance Assistant Manager.
  16. Responsible for working with co-workers, casino employees, and outside agencies in a friendly, helpful and professional manners at all times.
  17. Initiates any written and/or recorded investigation reports on illegal activities committed by customers, employees or any other person located on the premises of the Casino.
  18. Assist the Tule River Tribe Gaming Commission in all hearing and preparation of incident reports confiscated evidence, reviewing of tape in preparation of up-coming hearings regarding revoked or suspended license. In some cases, preparation of testimony in such cases.
  19. Maintain storage of Surveillance data and archive materials to include digital retention.
  20. Complete and attend all training courses, online, onsite, and offsite as assigned.
  21. Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  1. Must have a high school diploma or GED.
  2. Must have two (2) year of regulatory or supervisory experience. Surveillance experience preferred.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Must have a valid California driver’s license and be insurable through the Tribe.
  2. Ability to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
  3. Must be able to complete a pre-employment background investigation and drug screening successfully.
  4. Must be available to work any shift and potentially long hours, as the Casino is open 24-hours, seven days a week.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This job generally operates in a standard office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and other electronic equipment. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet up to moderately noisy during meetings and events. If working on the casino floor directly, the employee shall be regularly exposed to loud noises and cigarette smoke.
